- A very poor performance from Albion saw them
bow out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle. They started the game at
a frantic pace and seemed intent on blowing Dunston away. However with
their first attack Dunston took the lead after only 4 minutes. This
shocked the Albion team and it took them a while to re-establish their
style of play. They were just getting some of their rhythm back when
Dunston struck again with about 7 minutes to go before half-time. A long
diagonal ball over the top to the right corner, a deep cross to the far
post and a superb first time volley gave Clark no chance. Albion barely
had time to restart before Dunston scored their third. These 2 quick
goals seemed to deflate the Albion team and they went in for the
interval looking very down.
- Albion came out for the second half
looking for a quick goal to get them back into contention. Unfortunately
they seemed unable to create even a half-chance. Passes went astray all
the time and they seemed unable to get any rhythm into their play.
Dunston increased their stranglehold on the game as the half went on and
the game petered out. Not an attractive game to watch for the few Albion
supporters who turned up to watch.
