OSSETT ALBION AFC home
Albion     2 - 1    Woodley Sports

A fairly even first half saw a few chances fall to each team but they were unable to make the most of the opportunities. Five minutes before the interval Dave Dickinson, who had looked sharp and threatening for Albion, had to be substituted after getting a thigh injury. He was replaced by Michael Reynolds who played up front alongside the newly-signed Wael Nazha but made no difference to the scoreline and the teams went in 0-0 at half-time.
The second half was only 8 minutes old when Greg Brickell evaded several challenges from Albion defenders and took his chance well to put Woodley in front. As has happened on several occasions this season, going behind seems to spur Albion to more effort. This was the case in this match and Albion began to push forward and within 6 minutes a shot from Angus Mackay drew them level. Albion continued to play some neat football and 10 minutes later, after a good Albion attack, the ball again came out to Mackay who without hesitation smashed it into the Woodley net to put Albion in front. Shortly before this, the young and useful looking Shane Killock was replaced by Luke Smith. Once Albion were in front, they controlled the game and played out time without much trouble.
Adam Fretwell was a driving force in midfield and Mick Clark looked safe in the Albion net. The problem now for Albion's manager, Eric Gilchrist, is the ever-lengthening list of injured players.
