Northern Under 19 Alliance Table

Report (taken from the match day programme - 30th October 2004)

Our Under 18 team's terrific cup run, which took them to the final qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup, came to a sad end on Thursday when they went down to visiting Farsley Celtic.
Albion's youngsters led twice during the match but Farsley levelled on both occasions and then hit Albion with a couple of late goals to clinch the tie and set up a first round trip to Football League opponents in the form of Darlington.
Kyle Bates got Albion off to a flier when he headed home in their first serious attack on the Farsley goal. Farsley hit back only for Adam Fretwell to restore Albion's lead with a neat chip after the visitor's goalkeeper had made a good save at the feet of Dale Wassell. Farsley equalised again before half time to keep themselves in the match.
The game could have gone either way as the second half progressed but Farsley looked slightly the stronger and their late strikes proved a hurdle too far for our gallant young team.
Congratulations to all for the way they have played in the competition which has proved a real learning experience in this our first time of entry.
