Mick  Clark                  Goalkeeper

Now in his second spell at the Club having first joined Albion in 1996. Began in the Reserves and eventually forced his way into the first team. Had a distinguished spell with Ossett Town before returning to Albion as first choice goalkeeper in March 2005.

Simon  Kemp                Goalkeeper

An excellent shot-stopper who will provide both cover and competition for the number 1 position. Previously on the books of Scunthorpe United as a junior.

Kyle  Cook                       Defender  

Was a member of Albion's Academy side a couple of years ago but stepped into senior football with Brodsworth Welfare. Returned to Dimple Wells this season as he looks to make his way at Unibond League level.

Mark  Ryan                      Defender

A recent signing from Gateshead having previously come through the youth system at Barnsley FC. Made an instant impression in the team. Can also play equally well in a midfield role.

Nick   Handley                Defender

Joined Albion in September 2005. A solid central defender who reads the game well. Settled into his role quickly and has recently assumed the captaincy of the team.

Angus  Mackay               Defender

Joined the Club at the beginning of last season after being released by Oxford United for whom he made over 100 appearances at Reserve team level. Still regaining full fitness after suffering a broken leg at the end of last season.

Steve  West                    Defender

 A central defender who is strong in the air and possesses a good all-round game. Another player to step up to UniBond League football from neighbouring Northern Counties East League club Liversedge

Luke  Williams               Defender

Equally comfortable at centre back or right back. A close-season arrival at Albion from Northern Counties East League side Glasshoughton.

Gareth North                  Defender

A central defender with plenty of pace and formerly on the books of Barnsley. A good organiser who is comfortable in possession of the ball.

Michael  Senior                Midfield

Arrived at Ossett in October 2004 having played Conference football with Halifax Town whom he joined after his release from Huddersfield Town. A very industrious midfield player who can score spectacular goals.

Previous clubs:   Huddersfield Town and Halifax Town.

Chris  Wdowczyk               Midfield

A midfield player who can also play at the back. Joined Albion this season. A former member of the West Riding County FA youth team.

Ryan  White                     Midfield

A fairly recent addition to the squad and another player with Barnsley and Gateshead connections. Gets through a lot of work in midfield and has settled into the team quickly.

David  Syers     Midfield/Defender

A young player who made rapid progress through to the first team via the Academy and Reserve teams. Though still at Leeds Grammar School he has developed into a very consistent performer at UniBond League level. Shows a maturity beyond his years.

Danny  Toronczak               Striker

Signed in August 2001 and now in his sixth season at Dimple Wells. A prolific goalscorer who started the current season with 114 goals in 188 appearances. Missed much of last season through injury but still made the top goalscorer's charts.

Previous clubs:    Liversedge, Ashton United, Guiseley and Thackley.

Dave  Dickinson                  Striker

In his third  season at the Club having signed in July 2004.  Adapted very well to UniBond League football but last season was cut short when he suffered a broken ankle. Quick, strong and a good strike rate and the feeling is the best is yet to come from this popular member of the squad.

Previous clubs:   Tadcaster Albion, Frickley Athletic and Glashoughton.

Chris  Miller       Defender/Midfield 

A Scot who has recently moved into the Yorkshire area and linked up with Ossett Albion. Has professional experience in Scotland and is a specialist in dead ball situautions

Previous clubs:  Barnsley, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, East Fife, Stenhousemuir, East Stirling

Andy  Seed                        Midfield

Another young player to have joined Albion from Glasshoughton. Had a good pre-season and looking to establish himself at first team level.

Craig  Goodyear                  Midfield

A member of Albion's first UniBond League side in season 2001/2002 but only made five appearances. Returned during this close-season when his passing ability has impressed. Also a good striker of a dead ball.

Daniel  Facey                    Midfield

Another youngster to have joined Albion in the close-season. An exciting prospect from the Huddersfield area and his pace can cause problems for any defence.

Dominic  Riordan            Defender

An outstanding young player who joined the Club's Under 19 team last season and quickly progressed to the first team. Has recently returned to Albion after a brief spell in the United States. Now a regular choice a centre back and last season's Player of the Year.

Leon  Henry                     Midfield

A young player making quite an impact within the squad. Played local football in Huddersfield with Bay Athletic last season.

Kurtis Noble        Midfield/Striker

Represented Huddersfield Schoolboys before stepping up to open age football in the Huddersfield League. A skillful player who turned in some impressive performances in pre-season.

Dave  Boardman              Midfield

A young player yet to break into the first team on a regular basis, but is a genuine bonus to the squad. Always looks comfortable on the ball and possesses good vision.

ERIC GILCHRIST            Manager 

Eric came to Ossett Albion at the start of the 2000/2001 season having previously been at Liversedge for two and a half years. He is now Albion’s longest serving manager in over 30 years. His playing career as a professional was mainly at Barnsley where he made 18 first team appearances though he also had loan spells at Bradford City and Huddersfield Town.

In his first season with Albion he guided the Club to the runners-up position in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and subsequently promotion to the Unibond Northern Premier League. He was unable to keep the Club at that level but remained with them to guide Albion back to the UniBond League for a second spell this time as Northern Counties East League Premier Division champions.  

 

TONY PASSMORE           Assistant

A former Albion player who teamed up with Eric Gilchrist as assistant manager at Liversedge. Moved to Queens Terrace with Eric and returned to the Club having had eighteen months away from football because of work commitments. A vitally important and well-respected member of the management team.

NIGEL YARROW                  Coach 

For over 15 years Nigel was Albion’s first choice goalkeeper and during that time he chalked up the record for an Ossett Albion goalkeeper with over 600 appearances in a “one-club” career spanning some 15 years. Now on the coaching staff and a valuable member of the Club.

NICKY DAVIES                  Physio

A Welsh International in the women’s game and plays her club football with Manchester City Ladies. Her expertise in sports injuries makes her a vital member of the backroom staff at the club.
